The exemplary China Airlines crew offered a friendly attentive service throughout the flight. I only asked for assistance once and was immediately served with a warm smile.
26 July 2011
Saigon (Vietnam) to Taipei (Taiwan)
Carrier: China Airlines
Flight Number: CI782
Class: Y – Economy
Seat: 30B
Checkin experience:
Our group of Australian travel agents, wholesalers and media were escorted to the China Airlines check-in desk. Our professional Sydney escort, Jeremy Chen, arranged the boarding passes for us and ushered us to a group desk for our baggage drop.
On time performance:
Due to the aircraft arriving 10 minutes late our boarding and subsequent departure was delayed. After a courtesy announcement advising us of the delay in Chinese and English we ultimately pulled-back seven minutes late with the busy CI ground crew making up some time.
Seat/cabin conditions:
Our seating was in the rear in Zone 1 so we were amongst the first to board and were greeted by the China Airlines crew smiling and happy to welcome us aboard. The cabin was spotlessly clean and looked new but was apparently six years old. (According to our China Airlines escort none of their aircraft are more than eight years old – Flights in /out of Australia average 2-3 years).
The economy cabin on our A340-300 aircraft had 246 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. Seat pitch offered a 32-inch (81 centimeter) recline with a slide forward bottom cushion which extended adding a little more comfort than regular economy seating.
